Prominent features of the house are its large open-air living room opening on the pool deck, providing an easy transition from indoors to out. Its large freeform swimming pool has an eye-catching shape, emphasizing and reinforcing the minimalist features of the villa. The décor is funky yet stylish, pulling a mix of elements together into a modern and youthful combination.

The two buildings feature a mix of stone, wood and marble flooring. High ceilings grace all the rooms with the focus of the complex being inwards toward the swimming pool.

The master bedroom is separate bungalow with A/C and super king-size bed, overlooking saltwater pool, garden and ocean with open air garden bath, walk-in closet, stereo, satellite TV, VCR and phone. There is a connecting door to the forth bedroom / kids' bedroom feature a double bed and air conditioned with shared bathroom.

Villa Raja - CANGGU

Crafted by two of the island’s most talented traditional builders, this is a structure of great beauty with a timeless patina which weaves state of the art technology into a fabulous fabric of antiquity. 400 year old timbers, richly carved paneling, coral, pebbles, limestone, marble and even re-cut Art Deco roof tiles decorate every aspect of the building.

Beneath this dramatic exterior, new buildings frame and stabilise an ancient 12 metre high ironwood and teak “jineng”, containing the ground floor media room (complete with giant cinema screen and foundation-shaking Yamaha sound system.) Upstairs, an unforgettable master bedroom, with soaring 6 metre ceilings and sweeping views of the surrounding rice paddies. The massive antique carved bedhead frames a king size bed and was once a prestigious house façade in Java. One visitor likens spending a night here to “sleeping in the world’s sexiest art gallery,” with waxed, black ironwood floors, massive teak beams and, wrapping around the room, the unfolding saga of the Ramayana in beautiful, softly lit kamisan paintings.

The bedroom leads onto a separate walk in robe (huge) complete with safe, and an exotic, hand-formed ensuite bathroom that’s straight out of the Arabian nights. This in turn opens onto the eye-popping Gaudi-esque outdoor shower, patterned entirely underfoot and on all sides with a dazzling collection of 1920s terrazzo tiles rescued from mansions being demolished in Java.

The villa features another 3 stunning bedrooms with beautiful ensuite bathrooms. One forms the upper floor of a separate smaller timber jineng which overhangs the huge 20 metre lpool, rimmed with carved stone and fed by spouting, 2 metre stone statues. Here you swim in drinkable water produced by a sophisticated colloidal silver purification plant. The pool also features an 8 metre waterslide made by the builders of Bali’s famous roller coaster waterslide centre, “Waterbom” in Kuta.

Insect screens, (practically unknown in Bali) protect all bedroom and bathroom windows at Villa Raja. All rooms are air conditioned and supplied with fans as well. The buildings have been built to Western safety design standards so no shonky, wobbly steps, cracked paths or dangerous shortcuts here.

If there is one thing as synonymous with Bali as beauty, it’s tourists laid down with Bali Belly. Bali’s water is decidedly 3rd world and everyone uses bottled water to drink, brush teeth etc. But it’s pretty well impossible, if not financially unviable, to wash food in bottled water, or shower and wash in it, which is why the owners have installed a state of the art water purification plant, again using the colloidal silver filtration system, the world’s most effective water purification technology (as used on the space shuttle.) Pure, totally safe drinking water is piped to all showers, basins etc in the house.

Located right in the heart of Seminyak, minutes away from the famous KuDeTa & La Luciolla beach restaurants and a short stroll to all the fabulous shops, restaurants and trendy bars. The conception and design of this newly finished haven, placed a great focus on noble material such as hard wood, marble, palimanan and lava-stone.

Water plays a very important part in creating the extraordinary ambiance of villa Istimewa. The incredible sunken living room with an aquarium like window into the depth of the pool blesses the house with a great feel of modernity and space. And when night comes movies can be projected on the wall-sized screen, sliding doors shut and AC turned on.

The pool is one of the most beautiful ever seen. One might be tempted to spend a great part of the stay immersed in the water of this turquoise colored lagoon: Large enough for laps with great shallow areas to relax.

The Spa is another amazing feature of villa Istimewa; Recluse from the main part of the house, surrounded by fountains and lava stone carved walls it is fitted with Sauna, Jacuzzi, Cold Water Plunge pool, and a massage and fitness area. The Coconut Bedroom, as its name suggests, is surrounded by towering coconut palms. A cozy king-size bed, views to the pool and the surrounding flora make this a truly romantic room. There is an en-suite bathroom with a modern super sized showerhead contrasting with an antique wooden washbasin, a fabulous mix of the old with the new.

The treetop bedroom, opening to a private wooden terrace with a great panorama over the neighborhood and the spa feels exactly like being in a tree house although with all the home comforts thrown in: A king size bed, and an en-suite bathroom with bathtub opening up to the splendid garden.

The Temple Bedroom looks out onto the Balinese temple. Beautiful flower offerings brought to the temple are wonderful reminders of the ever-present spirituality involved in day-to-day life here in Bali. This bedroom features a queen size bed and opens up to the 50sqm wooden terrace allowing views onto the pool and surrounding gardens. The perfect spot to sip a cocktail admiring the changing pastel colors of the sky at the end of the day.

The Lotus Bungalow is a separate building on the far side of the pool that can be used either as a bedroom or as a multi media room as it features a king sized bed and an en-suite bathroom but is as well fully equipped with satellite TV, DVD and internet access.

Dining, prepared to your convenience by the villa’s full time cook, can be enjoyed in central pavilion by the pool.

Bedroom
The three ground level bedrooms feature bengkirai wood floors, dark wooden furnishings, king size beds and fitted wardrobes under soaring roofs. Each is equipped with a wall mounted, flat screen LCD satellite TV, complemented by a DVD player and sound system. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open out into the garden. Two of the bedrooms share a centrally positioned bathroom complete with a large frosted glass porthole window.

Bathroom
The two bathrooms have polished concrete floors, and are fitted with top quality Kohler sanitary ware, each with a large terrazzo bathtub, a toilet, twin washbasins, and an award-winning ‘Rain Forest’ shower positioned within a cubicle. The large, 4 x 12 metre, cobalt blue tiled, infinity edge pool is ideal for swimming laps. It is flanked by a timber deck, and features a random rock wall at one end and a large 'bale' relaxation pavilion at the other, complete with a cushioned base, soft drapes, and a pair of candelabra. The garden is bordered by a glass wall designed to maximise the rice field view and highlight the awareness of being positioned directly in the middle of such a gorgeous rural area.

The 1,200m2 property consists three separate structures high ceilings and an abundance of light access with the main pavilion open to the garden and two expansive bedroom structures enclosed with glass walls facing the pool & garden. The guests house has a private lounge which have a separate en-suite indoor / outdoor bathrooms.

The first structure to the left as on enters the lush landscaped garden from the living area. The large open plan living with L-shaped sofa & a dining area with seating for 8 people has a fully equipped kitchen. Access to the villa is via a modern entrance gate which reveals a welcoming Buddha statue in a stone niche.
